Spring Cleaning

Simplify with a single droplet of green beach glass.

Aloha Beach Lovers!

We sure are ready to spring into some warmer weather here on the North Shore of Oahu!   We’ve been blessed with lots of rain but had to endure damaging swells.

As much as I love the rain nourishing our beautiful green island and am awed by the huge waves, I crave the warm sun on my back as I stroll down the beach, ready for the next treasure to roll up from the calm ocean.

What I do to prepare for these treasures is purge the excess clutter from my home and cleanse my body and mind.

Here are some of the things I do to clear my space, with the added benefit of freeing stuck energy blocks in my psyche.

*De-cluttering the home.

First of all, I start one room(project) at a time so I don’t get overwhelmed and quit!

Set a timer for 20 minutes, so I know that I can quit at the sound of the buzzer. This also prevents me from getting overwhelmed and it gives me a sense of urgency, so I don’t dawdle when I’m doing these chores, too.

I suggest that you begin in your closet. Any clothes that don’t fit or you haven’t worn in a few months, you’ll probably never wear again, so put them in a To-Go pile! Donate this pile to your favorite organization or trade with a friend! (Don’t let them back in your closet, whatever you do.)

Organizing paperwork is not anyone’s favorite, but it must be done for sanity and with tax deadline approaching soon, it’s an especially good time to do this! Make sure to have pretty, brand new file folders and whatever other supplies you need when you begin this laborious process.

Practice doing your paperwork once a month at a minimum,     working up to once a week for super organizer status.

If you just can’t get this task done, don’t beat yourself up. Hire    a book keeper! It’s a great way to support a small business and none of us can do it all.

You get the picture. Be patient, tackle one job at a time, set a timer and before you know it, you’ll have a clean and organized home. It will feel great! Inside and out!

*Cleansing my body and mind.

*Cleansing – I have been…

Making detoxifying smoothies

Trying to eat less sugar

Eating more greens

Cutting all gluten from my diet

*Detox- We all should be…

Incorporating some type of body movement every day.

Beach walks

Walking your dogs

*Maintain – I use Do Terra essential oils in a diffuser and on my body…

“Oregano Oil” for intense cleansing or if you’re not  feeling well

“In Tune” blend is wonderful for focus

“Balance Blend” for balancing emotions

“On Guard” is amazing for keeping healthy

*Quiet personal time – vital for our systems

Creative outlets

*Gratitude – is my all time favorite, never fails to put a smile on my face.

Before you get out of bed in the morning, before your toes touch the floor, take a moment to list the things in your life for which you are grateful. Do a little of this, or a lot of this and you will have the most amazing days.

*Gemstones and Crystals – to enhance your beauty and help    with energy alignment.

Apatite, opal and labradorite – clear energetic blockages

Blue Sapphire and tourmaline – help with mental clarity

Onyx & clear quartz – help with chakra balancing

Amazonite and Chrysoprase – help with a fresh start!

And one last tip.

*Don’t forget to clean your jewelry!

Especially in Hawaii, the humidity can tarnish your jewels quickly, so it’s very important to clean them regularly.

Using a soft jewelry cloth periodically will keep the luster of your favorite pieces alive. Look for a new posting on my website offering an affordable and quality polishing cloth to keep your collection sparkling <3
